About the role

Every site we build has to live somewhere, stay up and load fast. Our frontends sit on Cloudflare. Our APIs and databases run in Docker on a Linux server we look after ourselves, and GitHub Actions ships the code.

And when a site suddenly throws a 502, someone has to figure out why. You'll learn how all of it fits together by running it with us, starting with small jobs that can't break anything.

What will you work on?

You'll deploy sites and APIs to Cloudflare Pages, Workers and our own Linux server. You'll write GitHub Actions pipelines, and fix them when they go red, so a push to main ships safely. Apps get packed into Docker and run with Coolify. A new domain means DNS records, an SSL certificate and a few redirects, and you'll set those up. Somebody also has to check that the backups actually restore. Things do break, and when they do you'll help fix it, then jot down what happened so the next person doesn't lose an evening to the same problem.

Who can apply?

We're looking for students and recent grads, mostly from CS or IT. Nobody expects a Linux wizard. You should be fine typing commands into a terminal, though, or be learning to right now. Git basics like commit, push and branch should feel normal. Ideally you've deployed at least one thing yourself, even a hobby project on a free plan. A cloud certificate from AWS, Azure or Google Cloud is nice to have, though we will never turn someone down for not having one.

What do you get?

There's no stipend, so let's be clear about the rest. You'll work hands-on with real servers, domains and pipelines, with guidance from the people who run our setup today, from home and on flexible hours. You leave with a certificate and a letter of recommendation, and if you do well, a fair chance at a full-time role.

FAQs

Is the Cloud & DevOps internship at LaunchPixel paid?

No, it isn't paid. We'd rather be clear about that from the start. What you do get is hands-on time with production servers, a certificate, a letter of recommendation and a real chance at a full-time role if you're good.

Do I need an AWS or Azure certification?

No. It helps, but we care more about whether you've deployed something and can tell us how it went, what broke included. Most of our setup is Cloudflare, Docker and Linux, and you'll pick that up by doing it.

What will I actually work on?

Real deployments. Our sites on Cloudflare Pages, our APIs in Docker on the Linux box, DNS and SSL whenever a new domain shows up, plus the CI pipelines and backups. At first we give you small jobs where a mistake costs nothing, and the bigger stuff comes once you've found your feet. Nobody's handing you the production database on day one.

Is it remote, and how long does it last?

Fully remote, yes. Patna or Pune, it makes no difference to us. Pick anything from 3 to 6 months when you apply and tell us how many hours a day you can give, and we'll plan your work around that. A laptop and decent internet are all you need.

Can I apply for the Cloud & DevOps internship right now?

Not right now. Our cloud and DevOps team is full, so we've paused this role, and we'll reopen it on this page when we need more people. In the meantime, our other open roles are on the careers page.
